Thanksgiving Food Drive 2019 - 11/05/19

Our St. Sava Parish Council is once again coordinating this year’s "Thanksgiving Food Drive for The Needy." Last year, we were able to assist five families – this year we aim to do even better! We ask anyone who would like to donate to please bring in your donated goods to the Church Hall. They may be placed on the stage (except for frozen/refrigerated items). The deadline for all donated goods is Sunday, November 24, 2019. In addition, please remember that we will also be taking special collections for our needy families after the Divine Liturgy on Nov 10th, 17th, and 24th.

Please remember to keep the less fortunate in your prayers as we approach the Holiday Season. Thank you for your loving concern and support for the needy.

Deacon Christopher Rocknage Ordained to the Holy Priesthood - 08/22/10

Ziveli, i Mnogaja Ljeta!

Rev. Father Christopher

God Grant You Many Years!

Our parish was blessed to witness a historical 'first' in our long history:  the ordination of one of our native 'sons', Christopher Stephen Rocknage, to the Holy Priesthood, on Sunday, August 22nd, 2010.  In front of an overflowing throng of family, kumovi, and friends from all over, Fr. Christopher was elevated to the rank of presbyter by His Grace, Bishop MITROPHAN.  He begins his earthly ministry in the Holy Resurrection parish in Lebanon, Pa.  May God bless him and his dear Popadija, Andreja, with His Grace and Love always!

The 25th Anniversary of Proto Stevo's Ordination to the Holy Priesthood

On Sunday, May 19th, we joyfully celebrated the 25th Anniversary of Fr. Stevo's Ordination to the Holy Priesthood.  The Church was packed with well-wishers and Fr. Stevo was joined at the Holy Altar by his son, Fr. Christopher Rocknage, and his brother-in-law, Fr. Tom Gallaway.  After the Liturgy, a cocktail hour with appetizers was held, then the beautiful Anniversary Banquet, sponsored by our Parish Council, followed before a packed hall.  Joining Fr. Stevo were special guests:  Fr. Dragoljub Malich, Episcopal Deputy; Fr. Stevan Stepanov, Dean of the Pittsburgh Deanery; Fr. Rade Merick, of Steubenville, Ohio; Fr. Rodney Torbic, of Carmichaels, Pa.; Fr. Rajko Kosic, of Pittsburgh, Pa., and some of the wives.  The highlight of the Banquet (and there were many) was two-fold:  Fr. Stevo's children 'reprising' their gift 25 years earlier at their Dad's Ordination by presenting him with a hand-painted icon of the Nativity of Our Lord....and then, to the delight of the crowd, and total shock to her, Fr. Stevo honoring his dear wife, Protinica JoAnn with a beautiful Anniversary ring, as a token of her role as 'Matushka' - co-minister - to our parish....her dedication, love, and support of our Parish earned her a well-deserved standing ovation, and the singing of "Mnogaja Ljeta!" by all!  The afternoon concluded with the wonderful music provided by Orkestra Pobeda, with Fr. Stevo's son, Dushan, and our own Nikola Vranesevic delighting the crowd...
